Shifter in Anton Yelchin death investigation used in two Maserati models

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the parent company of Maserati, will recall 13,092 Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans from the 2014 model year to address a shifter design issue similar to the one in the Anton Yelchin accident investigation. The two Maserati sedans use the same basic Monostable shifter, even though the shifter itself looks a little different from the one in Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge vehicles recalled in April of this year.

Class-action lawsuit claims design defect and concealment of crash reports

A group of Jeep Grand Cherokee owners has filed a class-action lawsuit against Jeep parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles alleging it concealed a shifter design defect. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in California, also accuses FCA of covering up incidents of property damage and injuries, as well as a slow response to address the issue.
